Exotic Chinese Gaba tea

Gaba tea (from the abbreviation Gaba — Gamma-aminobutyric acid, gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a rare and unique tea beneficial for the body. It is helpful as an antidepressant, stabilizes the cardiovascular system, and generally has many positive effects on various organs, from the liver to the brain. The concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid in this tea is as high as possible, thanks to unique processing technology.

Chinese tea Gaba 

Chinese Gaba tea appeared in Japan not so long ago, only in 1987. Since then, it has been in Taiwan and China, where the production technology is already. In Taiwan, raw materials collected in Alishan province and China in their tea provinces specialize in oolong – semi-fermented teas that occupy an intermediate position between green and black. This tea is tasty, soft, and light, with a slight sourness. It is quite different in taste from traditional green or black tea.

Gaba tea: properties of the drink

The unique properties of Gaba tea have made it already very popular not only in Asia but also around the world. It is like oolongs — half, but also without oxygen access saturates it as much as possible with gamma-aminobutyric acid, which quickly turns into a tea infusion even with the simplest brewing. The color of the input of this tea is light, from golden honey to red. And it even tastes a little floral, with a sweet aftertaste. It stimulates all metabolic processes in the body and is also a very effective natural tranquilizer and antidepressant. But this has drawbacks – people with low blood pressure and diabetes must treat such a drink carefully.

How to brew Gaba tea?

Even if you brew Gaba tea just like usual, it will already be handy. But the authentic tea culture implies the most effective use of tea features. To properly brew the Gaba, you first need to understand how it was fermented. Roughly speaking, there is red Gaba tea, and there is green tea – and they are brewed differently, like Chinese red tea and oolong. 

The brewing of Gaba green tea in water with a temperature of up to 90 degrees, with one tablespoon of tea per 150-200 ml teapot. First, the tea with hot water (poured immediately drains from the kettle), then the tea should breathe for a couple of minutes with the lid open. After that, the first welding takes place – the water is poured literally for 10 seconds and can already be poured into cups. 

Like any other oolong, such tea can 8-10 times, and each time slightly increases the time of infusing water. Red Gaba in a different way – it is literally “boiled” in boiling water, washed with it after that, and then drained through a filter. Repeatedly red Gaba is not brewed.

What effect does Gaba tea have?

Gaba tea has a whole bouquet of the most beneficial effects for the human body. First, it is an effective remedy for depression and anxiety, which is why it is in business negotiations in Asia. In addition, it stimulates the brain, relieves alcohol intoxication, normalizes the work of the heart, lowers blood pressure, and activates the liver. This tea even prevents the death of nerve cells – at the moment, it is one of the most valuable natural drinks in the world.
